Is a retirement projection the same as a full financial plan?

The situation is that I am considering hiring a financial professional for the first time. The situation is that I want help with retirement, investments, taxes, and estate related decisions, but I am seeing many different titles and business models and cannot tell which services I actually need. I want to fit this into a broader financial plan rather than treat it as an isolated product or account question.

A retirement projection is one component, while a full plan also addresses present cash flow, risk, taxes, and estate matters. As part of the financial analysis, a financial plan connects cash flow, savings, investments, insurance, taxes, retirement, and estate goals. A written financial plan should lay out the cash flow impact, time horizon, tax effects, liquidity needs, and downside risk before money is committed.
