Does my will have to be notarized?

For context, I prepared a will myself and am ready to sign it. For context, I am most concerned about getting the signing formalities right because a technical mistake may not be discovered until after death. I am about to sign and want to make sure the document will actually be usable later.

Many wills do not require notarization for basic validity, although a notarized self proving affidavit can simplify proof later. For this legal issue, notarization may support a self proving affidavit or other document, but a notary does not replace required witnesses unless the law specifically allows it. Because will execution requirements are set by state law, the signing should be checked against the current rules in WV before relying on the document.
