When should I create a will?

You should create a will as soon as you become an adult with any assets or, especially, when you have children. Major life events like marriage, buying a home, or starting a family are natural triggers. There's no reason to wait, since none of us knows what tomorrow holds, and a will protects whoever you leave behind. Even a simple one is far better than leaving everything to state law.
